Dr. Cook completed the Medical College of Virginia’s Dental School in 2003, where he earned his doctorate of Dental Science degree. Prior to that, he also completed a doctorate program in Neuro Anatomy, also from MCV. Dr. Cook is originally from Richmond. In 2003, Dr. Cook purchased the practice of Dr. Wilson Ames and relocated to Smithfield. He and his wife, Kirstin, have two children Colby and Anna. Dr. Cook is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and has served two terms as an elected member of the Smithfield Town Council.
Dr. Rahmani started with us in 2023. She graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2022. After graduating, she moved to Newport News and completed a General Practice Residency at the Hampton Veterans Affairs Hospital. She recently got married and resides in Newport News with her husband Robert and their dog Pinto. In her downtime, Dr. Rahmani enjoys reading, painting, and crafting.
Auburn joined our practice in 2020. She brings over 10 years of dental experience to the office. Her broad knowledge of different dental treatments as well as her extreme attention to detail make her a real asset to our practice! Auburn was brought to Hampton Roads through the military and she is motivated to establish deep roots in the local area. In early 2022, Auburn took over the role of Office Manager. She currently resides in Carrolton with her husband Ryan, daughter Shelby and son Kaden.
Candace joined the practice in 2011. She obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University in 2011, but had worked as a dental assistant for several years prior to that. Candace is currently a full-time hygienist in our office. She was born and raised in Portsmouth, where she currently lives with her husband Jason and their daughter, Lyla and son, Braison.
In 2007, Ellen joined our practice as a dental assistant. She left our practice to further her education and graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Dental hygiene in 2011. After living and practicing dental hygiene in Florida for a few years, she decided to return to Virginia. We were lucky to have her join our practice again as a full-time dental hygienist! Ellen was raised in IOW county and now lives in Surry with her husband Derek and their two children, Paisley and Rhett.
Mary H started her dental career here with us in 2023. Mary is always friendly and has the gentle ability to put patients at ease. Whether explaining procedures, answering questions, or providing comfort to our patients, Mary is passionate about the cosmetic side of dentistry and Invisalign.
Jessica joined our practice in 2023. Jessica has been in and out of dentistry for the past 30 years. She has traveled with her husband throughout his military career, which has brought her here to Virginia. She enjoys reading, finding new eateries and breweries, and sitting outside on her patio relaxing.
Brittainy, a native of Smithfield, joined our front office team in July 2020. She has over 10 years of experience working as a receptionist in the medical field. That, along with her warm and friendly personality, makes her an asset to our staff. Her ties to the military have afforded her the opportunities to live in various parts of the country. Brittainy currently lives in Smithfield with her children, Chandler and Chanel. Outside of work, she enjoys skating, reading, and spending time around her home with family.
Michelle joined the practice in 2003. She obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University in 2003. She was raised in Surry County, where she currently lives with her husband Brian and their two boys, Dawson and Tanner.
Dr. Gringer is a Smithfield native and graduate of Smithfield High School class of 2011. He then went on to Virginia Tech and eventually Columbia University in New York City to obtain his dental degree in 2019. Upon graduation from dental school, he began his military career in the US Army at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. There he completed a 2-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program to expand his dental skills to provide better care for his patients. Dr Gringer will soon be finishing his active-duty career out of Fort Jackson, South Carolina during which time he deployed to both Germany and Poland to provide combat dental care to the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Dr Gringer is moving back home to Smithfield with his wife Asya and daughter Antonella and looks forward to providing care to the members of the Smithfield community.
Marie considers the Dental field one of her biggest passions. She has been in the dental field for 11 years, starting as an assistant after a 2 year assisting/EFDA program. After 3 years she moved to front office and found the mix between business and dental was exactly what she wanted to do as her lifelong career. She has 5 years of insurance experience and thrives with the complexity and detail it takes! Marie’s other passions are reading, gardening and going to the beach! Marie currently resides in Portsmouth with her husband Travis, their daughter Melanie and 3 massive dogs!
